NWLAB cookie policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files written to the browser or to the device so that a site can recognize a session, remember preferences, keep technical features working or record certain browsing events.

Besides cookies, web services may use related technologies such as local storage, session tokens and server logs. In this policy we use “cookies” broadly, to refer to those mechanisms whenever that makes sense.

2. How the NWLAB site operates today

The public NWLAB site loads two audience measurement tools: Umami, hosted by NWLAB itself and operated without cookies, and Google Analytics 4, provided by Google and loaded through Google Tag Manager. No media, remarketing or advertising pixel scripts are loaded.

Google Analytics writes cookies in the browser (such as _ga and _ga_*) to tell visitors and sessions apart. The browsing data it collects is sent to Google and processed under Google's own policies.

3. Cookies that may still exist

Even on a site with a minimalist approach, some cookies or technical identifiers may show up in specific situations:

• Strictly necessary cookies for security, load balancing, abuse prevention and infrastructure stability.
• Session cookies or tokens tied to authenticated areas, such as the administrative environment, when there is a login.
• Temporary storage needed for components to work, for navigation or for protection against failures.
• A language preference cookie (NEXT_LOCALE), written only when you use the language selector or the suggestion bar, never automatically. It stores the language you chose, is a first-party cookie, lasts one year and carries no personal data.

These mechanisms do not exist for behavioral advertising and, when present, serve the legitimate technical operation of the service.

4. Forms and third-party services

The Diagnostic form is submitted through a third-party form processing provider. That flow may involve technical elements needed to deliver your message securely and reliably.

If additional analytics, automation or measurement tools are activated in the future, NWLAB will update this policy and, where required, implement the appropriate transparency and consent management mechanisms.

5. Analytics and consent

The analytics tools record pages visited, traffic source, device and browser type, approximate location derived from the IP address and interaction events, such as clicks on contact buttons and form submissions. That data is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to improve the content.

Umami does not use cookies and does not identify you individually. Google Analytics uses cookies and can be blocked in the browser settings or by the official Google Analytics opt-out extension. More detail about the processing done by Google is in the Google privacy policy.

6. How to manage cookies in your browser

You can review, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The exact path varies with the software used, but it usually sits under the privacy, security or preferences menus.

Blocking cookies entirely may affect parts of how sites work technically, including login, form submission, persistence of preferences and security mechanisms.
